Northrop & Johnson Australia finds Australian industry ready and willing at first major show of the year
As the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) wrapped on Sunday, Northrop & Johnson Australia reflected on a busy show that demonstrated Australia is at a tipping point. It was the first Australian show for the global superyacht giant after its move into the Australian market in February. Prior to the show, the Northrop & Johnson Australia team were confident of the Australian domestic market’s ability to support a strong superyacht presence; now that’s been reinforced by the exceptional levels of interest the brokers encountered. “Australia has a rich maritime culture with a burgeoning superyacht industry, which N&J see as a great opportunity to raise the bar and continue positive growth,” says Cameron Bray, managing director of Northrop & Johnson Australia. Northrop & Johnson Australia showed the two largest charter yachts which have been seen at the show – 33-metre Corroboree and 36-metre Sahana, both now bound for a charter season in the Whitsundays. Alongside the two stand-out beauties, was the actively for sale 22-metre Cresta Motor Yacht, and rounding out the Northrop & Johnson display; 26-metre wave-piercing charter catamaran, Pure Adrenalin – a corporate event favourite. “We’ve seen very positive growth in the Australian charter industry in recent years, which is now reflected by an increase in enquiries for buyers looking to have their yachts run as commercial entities,” says Bray. “Feedback during the show was fantastic, with show organisers and show goers alike telling us how excited they were to see the Northrop & Johnson Australia stand. Spreading across an entire pier and with a Waterscape platform providing an escape from the bustle of the show; Northrop & Johnson’s superyacht world was a display unlike any an Australian show had hosted before.” Northrop & Johnson Australia will be in attendance at the Sydney International Boat Show, as well as the Monaco Yacht Show, Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and Antigua Charter Show.
Northrop & Johnson Australia announces central agency of Australian charter yacht Emerald Lady
Northrop & Johnson Australia is pleased to announce it holds central agency of Australian charter yacht, Emerald Lady. Created to elevate the Australian cruising experience, 35-metre Emerald Lady is the latest yacht to join the Northrop & Johnson Australia management fleet. “We’re delighted to add one of Australia’s most renowned charter yachts to our management fleet. A classic cruising superyacht, Emerald Lady epitomises luxury chartering. With additional features beyond the norm including a heli pad, game fishing chair in the cockpit, mother-shipping capabilities and separate accommodation for a dive master, exploring Australia’s vast coastline can be experienced in a totally different light,” says Northrop & Johnson Australia’s managing director, Cameron Bray. The expansive spaces of this classic beauty can accommodate up to 45 day guests, or eight liveaboard guests in four cabins. The teak-fitted aft-deck and gorgeous upper deck spaces mean there’s a wealth of spots to choose from when enjoying a meal prepared by the onboard chef. Emerald Lady is available for charter in the beautiful waters of the Gold Coast through summer, amongst the dolphins, turtles, dugongs and other marine wildlife that inhabit this special part of the world. Her winter cruising grounds are the extraordinary Whitsunday islands and Great Barrier Reef. Emerald Lady was on show recently at the Gold Coast Marine Expo, from the 19-22 May, where she was well-received by showgoers. “The Gold Coast Marine Expo gave us the ideal opportunity to present one of Australia’s most iconic charter yachts, Emerald Lady, to the charter market. Potential charter guests had the rare chance to step onboard and see firsthand the amazing finishes, size and scale of the yacht and put themselves in the picture of how their Emerald Lady charter will look.” said Bray.
