FAQ

If you’re chartering for the first time, knowing a few of the conventions will help you prepare for your trip and make sure you get the most out of it.

Booking and Planning

Our expert Experience Managers are on-hand to make your ultimate yachting experience a reality. Contact us with your desired dates, destination, number of guests, and specific preferences via our contact form and we will provide a selection of yachts that meet your requirements. From there, we will guide you through the booking process, including signing the charter agreement and making payments.

We recommend booking your yacht charter 6 to 12 months in advance, especially for peak seasons and popular destinations. By booking in advance, we can ensure the best selection of yachts and dates to suit your needs.

The charter fee typically includes the yacht rental, crew services, and standard equipment. Additional expenses such as fuel, food, beverages, dockage, and special requests are usually covered by the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). We always endeavour to ensure your costs are as clear and inclusive as possible.

The APA is a deposit, usually 20-30% of the charter fee, paid in advance to cover variable costs such as fuel, food, beverages, and port fees. The Captain manages these funds and provides a detailed account of expenditures at the end of the charter.

We pride ourselves on delivering your ultimate yacht experience. If you’d like to customise your itinerary, we will work closely with you, the charterer, and the Captain to create a personalised itinerary that suits your preferences.

We recommended that guests pack lightweight, casual clothing suitable for warm weather, swimwear, sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses. Most of our charters provide basic toiletries, but feel free to bring your preferred products.

Guests are also responsible for any personal medication and travel documents.

Yes, multi-country charters are possible. Discuss your desired itinerary with us to ensure all necessary arrangements, such as customs and immigration, are handled smoothly.

While we endeavour to let you explore the four corners of the globe, some areas may have restrictions due to environmental protection laws, political instability, or safety concerns. Your Experience Manager and Captain will advise you on suitable and safe destinations.

To ensure you enjoy every moment of your yacht charter, we create a preliminary itinerary that can be adjusted during the charter based on weather conditions, your preferences, and discussions with the Captain.

If you have a certain experience in mind, contact our expert Experience Managers to ensure it’s included in your preliminary itinerary.

Yes, the onboard chef can accommodate special dietary requirements and preferences. To ensure your dietary requirements are catered to, please let your Experience Manager know in advance to boarding.

As pet policies vary by yacht, please advise your Experience Manager in advance if you’d like to bring a pet. Bringing a pet may determine what yacht charters will be available and any additional arrangements that may be required.

Gratuities are usually given at the end of the charter and are typically 10-20% of the charter fee, depending on your satisfaction with the service. If you have any questions about tipping and gratuities, please ask your Experience Manager or Captain.

A typical crew includes a Captain, chef, and deckhands. Larger yachts may also have stewards, engineers, and additional crew members. If you’d like any additional services onboard, your Experience Manager can help you with this during the booking process.

Many yachts offer Wi-Fi, but connectivity can vary depending on the location. If you require Wi-Fi access during your charter, your Experience Manager can help you with this during the booking process.
