N&J: Australian Industry Ready at Major Show

Sanctuary Cove Superyacht event

As the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) wrapped on Sunday, Northrop & Johnson Australia reflected on a busy show that demonstrated Australia is at a tipping point.

It was the first Australian show for the global superyacht giant after its move into the Australian market in February. Prior to the show, the Northrop & Johnson Australia team were confident of the Australian domestic market’s ability to support a strong superyacht presence; now that’s been reinforced by the exceptional levels of interest the brokers encountered.

“Australia has a rich maritime culture with a burgeoning superyacht industry, which N&J see as a great opportunity to raise the bar and continue positive growth,” says Cameron Bray, managing director of Northrop & Johnson Australia.

Northrop & Johnson Australia showed the two largest charter yachts which have been seen at the show – 33-metre Corroboree and 36-metre Sahana, both now bound for a charter season in the Whitsundays. Alongside the two stand-out beauties, was the actively for sale 22-metre Cresta Motor Yacht, and rounding out the Northrop & Johnson display; 26-metre wave-piercing charter catamaran, Pure Adrenalin – a corporate event favourite.

“We’ve seen very positive growth in the Australian charter industry in recent years, which is now reflected by an increase in enquiries for buyers looking to have their yachts run as commercial entities,” says Bray.

“Feedback during the show was fantastic, with show organisers and show goers alike telling us how excited they were to see the Northrop & Johnson Australia stand. Spreading across an entire pier and with a Waterscape platform providing an escape from the bustle of the show; Northrop & Johnson’s superyacht world was a display unlike any an Australian show had hosted before.”

Northrop & Johnson Australia will be in attendance at the Sydney International Boat Show, as well as the Monaco Yacht Show, Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and Antigua Charter Show.
